Ellie, Hattie and baby William.

Hattie and Ellie adore their little brother William.

On Tuesday 30th August I travelled to North Yorkshire to photograph three adorable children: Ellie, Hattie and little William.  Their lovely mummy Lisa received the photo shoot gift voucher as a Christmas present from their fabulous Grandma Pauline.

We captured all of the photographs in and around their beautiful family home, we also incorporated their labradors: Bracken and Ollie,  and a few chickens in to a few of the shots!

Lisa and Glenn have fantastic taste in how they have styled, designed and decorated their fantastic home. I knew each of the rooms would make brilliant back drops for personal and creative photographs that the family will hopefully treasure for years to come.

I loved every minute of photographing these gorgeous children, and I hope the family like this little preview in to some of the results from the shoot.  I am saving plenty of surprises for their private viewing in their home soon.

” Lisa, thanks so much for having the photo shoot at your home, and for making me feel so welcome.  Your children are an absolute credit to you, your a fantastic mummy – thanks for the yummy lunch too. Glenn – I look forward to meeting you at the viewing!. See you soon, Gemma ”

We started the shoot with a few shots in the garden. Can you spot the pet chickens?

Family fun at Ripley Castle

Ripley Castle was a fantastic location for a family photo shoot.

On Saturday 27th August, I travelled to Ripley Castle to photograph a fabulous family consisting of: Heshan, Indra, Alana, Anya and Yasmin.

Heshan won the photo shoot voucher in a raffle that I donated last year, and I am so thrilled that he won, as I had an absolutely wonderful time photographing his gorgeous family.

Heshan and Indra recently celebrated their wedding anniversary at Ripley Castle and they decided it would be a fitting venue for their family photo shoot. I loved the idea of spending the day at the beautiful Ripley Castle, it was made even more special by the fact that Heshan hired the use of a few of the rooms inside – which made fantastic back drops.

Indra had chosen some lovely outfits for them all, the girls were adorable, the weather was perfect – and we all had a great day capturing some images that I hope the family will love.

I am only showing a few of my favourites in this blog post, to make sure I keep plenty of surprises for the families private viewing at their home soon.

” Thank you Heshan and Indra for the extra efforts you made that all helped to create a super special photo shoot. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I look forward to showing you all of the photographs soon. Gemma ”

Amber and Sienna - a timeless shot

On Tuesday 16th August I travelled to York to photograph Melanie and Tony with their children: Amber and Sienna.

This lovely family actually live in Oman, so I was delighted when they included a photo shoot with me in their holiday plans! Melanie heard about my work through another of my wonderful portrait clients -Caroline, whom she met in Oman.

I’m so glad they booked a shoot, as I had a wonderful time working with them all. Today I returned to Tony’s parents home to reveal the results from the photo shoot.  I am happy to say the family love the photographs, and I just want to say a huge thank you to them for ordering some beautiful framed photography products and collections of images.  I look forward to seeing the finished products, and sending them to Oman!

Here are a few of the favourites from todays viewing.

On Saturday the 13th August, I had a lovely morning photographing Gareth, Anastasia, Leonidas and baby Zenon in Meanwood park, Leeds.

I first photographed Gareth and Leonidas in Meanwood park in the snow last December, See the story of that shoot – click here.

It was great to see Gareth and Leonidas again, and to be able to meet Anastasia and the newest addition to the family: little Zenon – he is absolutely gorgeous, such a happy little baby.

I am only revealing a few of the photographs on this blog story, and I look forward to showing Gareth and Anastasia the rest in a private viewing at their home soon.

Ann and Steve’s wedding Anniversary photo shoot.

Almscliffe Cragg has the most amazing views

On Friday 12th August, I visited the home of Ann and Steve in Harrogate to begin their portrait shoot. Ann and Steve are a lovely couple, really welcoming and friendly, and as soon as I arrived at their beautiful home I knew I would love photographing them. They were also celebrating their wedding anniversary – so the photographs we captured are extra special.

Ann’s parents Joan and Jim joined in at the beginning of the photo shoot for a few photographs in the lounge. This gorgeous couple made me giggle a lot! I loved hearing Jim’s stories about how they met many years ago, and how he won Joan over with some sneaky snogs on Blackpool pier!

Steve and Ann really wanted the majority of their photo shoot to take place outdoors, so after a few studio style shots in the lounge we headed outside. We used the garden for a few shots, before heading to Almscliffe Crag to capture some natural, creative and unique images that I hope Steve and Ann will love!

” Steve and Ann, thank you so much for a fabulous day. Thanks also for the yummy lunch – it was greatly appreciated! I hope you enjoyed celebrating the rest of your anniversary, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for your private photo reveal at your home. ”

Family time at Bolton Abbey

Bolton Abbey made the perfect setting for beautiful, natural photographs

On Monday 8th August, I travelled to Bolton Abbey to meet and photograph Susie, Nik, Elliot, Felix and little Flora.

Susie and Nik received the portrait shoot gift voucher as a present for Christmas and after thinking about the kinds of photographs they wanted to capture, they decided that Bolton Abbey would make a great setting for the shoot.  I couldn’t agree more! it is a truly beautiful place to visit.

It was an extremely rainy day but we didn’t let this stop us having fun, and in between the showers we captured some gorgeous images that I hope the family will love.

This is just a little glimpse in to the results from the shoot.

” Susie and Nik, thank you for being such lovely people to work with, you have an absolutely adorable family, and I hope you are happy with this sneak preview! Thanks also to Susie’s step mum Jane for buying the photo shoot gift voucher. ”

Crista, Lee, Lenny and Elvie

The photo shoot took place at Crista & Lee's home in Harrogate

On Saturday 6th August, I had a fabulous time photographing Crista and Lee with their two gorgeous children: Lenny and Elvie.

I originally met Crista through a ladies business networking group called ‘Harrogate Blah’ last year, and I was delighted when Crista decided to book a family photo shoot.

Crista is one lovely, creative and talented lady – so I knew her family photo shoot would be a great one! Crista runs a fantastic PR and Marketing company called Cat & Mouse PR (see her website – click here).  Crista’s husband Lee is a brilliant artist – I will post a link to his work shortly.

Crista and Lee wanted me to capture some fun, creative images of their family that are full of personality and character – I think we achieved this and I can’t wait to show them the finished results from the shoot.  This blog story just features a few of my favourite shots from the day. I’m keeping plenty of surprises for their private viewing taking place at their home soon.

” Crista and Lee, thank you for booking me to photograph your family, I hope you like this sneak preview. See you soon, Gemma ”

Family time at the farm

On Tuesday 26th July, I travelled to a beautiful family farm in York to photograph Phillip and Fiona with their two sons, Harry and Charlie. (and Charlies cockerel!)

The family received the photo shoot gift voucher for Christmas and I was delighted they did, as they were a pleasure to work with and photograph. (thanks to Goldie for buying the voucher).

We decided to capture all of the images on the farm, where we could incorporate personal props that would always mean something to the family in years to come when they look back at the photographs.

This is just a small selection of the images captured, to enable me to keep lots of surprises for the family’s viewing soon.

” Thank you Phillip and Fiona for welcoming me in to your lovely family home, your boys are an absolute credit to you, and I just want to say a special ‘thank you to Charlie’ for the yummy eggs he gave me as a gift! ”

Fiona, Mark, Katie and Hollie – a family photo shoot.

Enjoying some fun family time

On Wednesday 13th July I travelled to Pateley Bridge to photograph Fiona and Mark with their two beautiful daughters Katie and Hollie.

As soon as I arrived at their family home and saw how excited the girls were I knew we would have a fantastic time on the shoot!  Fiona and Mark are wonderful parents and have made a lovely home for their family, they were all so welcoming and made me feel like I had known them all for years!

We were extremely lucky with the weather, as the light and temperature was perfect for the shoot.  (considering July is normally the month where most family shoots include umbrellas and wellies!)

The family took me on a gorgeous walk around the picturesque countryside that surrounds their home, the time flew by and I captured so many images that I love and can’t wait to show the family in their private viewing at their home very soon.

” Thanks so much Fiona, Mark, Katie and Hollie for a fantastic photo shoot. I hope you like this little preview in to the results.  Thanks also for the yummy lunch! see you soon, Gemma ”
